MISPLACED PASSION DURING THE ELECTION

KNOW WHY YOU ARE DOING WHAT YOU ARE DOING
OR
MISDIRECTED PASSIONS
By Jason Adams

In this heated battle of the Presidential race there is a lot of turmoil going on in the body of Christ about whom the next President will be. Saints are actually dividing over this, some have even left their local assembly and I would ask the question, why? I would like to believe that this race would not outshine the race that we should be running in Christ, but I see that it is. I find that people are so hungry for an earthly king that they must have forgotten their marching orders from the heavenly King.
Some of you have never gone to witness outside your comfort zone but you are willing to go into the most dangerous and vile parts of town to campaign for a individual who has no eternal real estate for you to invest in. Others drive 2 or 3 hours for a glance at your earthly king. Many of you provide a list of excuses for not holding up a sign for Jesus or passing out a silent preacher, but you spend gas and time putting up signs for your earthly king. You will involve someone in a fifteen minute conversation trying to convince them to vote for your earthly king but you failed to even mention Jesus. How much time have you spent canvassing your neighborhood for your favorite candidate? Are you spending as much time telling people about Jesus as you are for your favorite candidate,….No.  Unfortunately many of you have passed out more campaign material for an earthly king in the last few months than your entire lifetime for Jesus. It is time you examine yourself.
So I ask, do you know why you’re doing what you are doing. If you don't, you might need to pick up your bible and find out what God has to say concerning this issue of salvation to a sick and depraved world. Government cannot save you. This world is hopeless, even with your favorite candidate who is just as undeserving of God’s grace and mercy as you are. But hail to the TRUE king, the one and only Jesus Christ, the carpenter, Mary's baby, the second person of the trinity( I added a few more names so there would be no mistake who I’m talking about) who was battered and bruised for your iniquities that you might come into a right relationship with the GOD of the universe. The church is so caught up in this fiasco that she is acting like a woman who has lost her husband and has become a busybody in someone else's affairs, it’s time for her to get back to her first love which is Christ. Scripture is clear when it says to the church that we should live in the world, but not like the world.
The world (namely America) is concerned about three major topics, The economy, health care and the war. As far as the church is concerned these are issues that shouldn’t even really bother us because scripture tells us how to handle each one.  ECONOMY= He owns the cattle on a thousand hills so his supply is limitless but when he gives us our lot, in some cases we become unwise stewards, and now we fall prey to the world’s system. HEALTH CARE=the word tells us by his stripes we were healed, that never meant we wouldn’t get sick. We live in no good filthy flesh, but thank goodness we were cleansed and healed from the bondage of sin through the blood of Jesus Christ. WAR= even though it is something we don't like this is part of bible prophecy and must be fulfilled. God created everyone that ever lived as a free moral agent you have the right to feel, believe, and choose whichever way you like but in the end God is still sovereign and runs this whole show and that won't CHANGE!

I am thankful that the true Christians are taking a stand for Jesus Christ. He should be our vote! Being an African-American male, I get shot down for standing on God's Word by not voting. People call you foolish and look at you crazy. Some twist scripture to justify that voting for evil is right. Oh well all praise be to the King, the Lord Jesus Christ. Good post
