The devil told Eve she could be like God( Gen 3:5). Satan was cast out of heaven for desiring to be like God. Have you ever heard this preached “we can call things that be not as though they were”. Well we all know that’s a lie but the false teachers persistent in telling it. These things are nevertheless blasphemy.
On Wednesday I had a friend call me about a broadcast on TBN with Eddie Long. I didn’t believe what my friend said, so I listened for myself. Yep he said it, Eddie said “he could control God”. Now Eve and Satan sought to be equal with God, Eddie elevates himself above God by saying” he can control God”.
Listen to Ro 6:16a Do you not know that to whom you present yourselves slaves to obey, you are that one's slaves whom you obey………..

God is now the servant of Eddie Long. This, my reader, is sheer blasphemy. Eddie has created his own God and violated commandment #1,2,3, and 4 in one quick swoop. Think about it and you will see how heinous this is.
Ex 20:3 "You shall have no other gods before Me.
Ex 20:4 "You shall not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth;
Ex 20:7 "You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain, for the LORD will not hold him guiltless who takes His name in vain.
Ex 20:8 "Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.
I just wanted you to hear this heretical foolishness for yourself. Add this to your library with Benny, Creflo, Jakes, Joyce, Paula, Juanita and Kenneth.
Proverbs gives this warning Pr 16:18 ¶ Pride goes before destruction, And a haughty spirit before a fall.

Hello. I just checked out the video clip of Bishop Long you suggested. I have to say I must disagree with your comments because I fear you did not listen to his comments in context of the conversation. He was not saying that he controled God, but that in seminary he was taught how to control God, whereas he now or recently have desired to just "let God"(do what He wants to do during the service). So, in no way he's saying that he controls God during a service, but that he learned a supposed "method" in seminary that he wants to rid his mind of.
Just listen in context and not go into the situation w/ a critical spirit...looking for flaws based upon what someone else told you. I mean, we should most certainly be discerning, but maybe not overly critical.

I would suggest that you listen again to what Eddie said.
“I have been taught in seminary how to control God”
“I studied how to control God”
“It is very difficult for us to let God be God”
“I’m so used to being in charge”
This is not hearsay this is what Eddie said with his own mouth. You even said that now he “desired to just let God”. By implication this means a change is possibly occurring as Eddie relinquishes his control.
But really should you expect less?, his pimpery has already gotten him in trouble with the senate. Eddie is only fulfilling scripture;
Mt 15:18 But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man.
Mt 15:19 For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies:

Its amazing how the sheep can hear what they want to hear from people like Eddie Long. HE SAID HE COULD CONTROL GOD(PERIOD)

Hear me well. I do not endorse Mr. Long at all! However, I do believe in holding what a minister says against scripture and giving them the benefit of a doubt as they themselves, as mere me, like us, grow in God even as they preach (Like Paul). Now, even I can admit that as I have come from a babe in Christ to a rather mature man, I too had a mentality of "controlling God" per-sey. Trying to get my way through immature forms of manipulation (like I could actually manipulate God). Therefore, I too had to learn to "let go and Let God's will prevail and not my own self-centered pursuits." Have we not all done that at some point in our walk w/ Christ?
So here me, I am not defending him, what I am doing is understanding his humanity and hearing his growth process as he verbalizes it. The way he says it may sound heretical, but if you listen w/o being overly critical, then you will hear someone talking about their growth process and not necessarily what they do now.
So again, this is not an endorsement, but as I hear your critiques, be careful that the devil does not enter your heart to be a critical person of all ministers and you miss out on the message in front of you. IT can happen if you don't check it.

Why? 1.Not all ministers teach contrary to scripture. 2. There are many minister I admire and look to for helping me to grow such as David Downs, MacArthur, Adrian Rodgers and others. 3. There would never be enough time to listen and critique every minister. However I will be sure to maintain a balance, that it why there are many posts I never make.)
